The outstanding achievements of Shenley Village Cricket Club last season have been recognised with an award from Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League.
The club's three teams all won promotion at the end of the campaign, with the seconds being crowned champions of the league's division ten.
This month the club, which is based at Shenley Cricket Centre, received the President's Trophy after being judged the most successful club in the league.
Perhaps the most impressive performance came from Shenley's third team, who finished second in division 13 in their first-ever season.
Club chairman Ray McLennan, who is also captain of the thirds, said: "We were the only club to have all three teams promoted and that is why we won it.
"We are absolutely delighted it is an indication of all the hard work that has gone on and the cricket development plan that we have put into place."
The club launched its cricket development plan, aimed at attracting and coaching young players, at the beginning of the season.
Mr McLennan said that the club, which was founded in 1861, was in the strongest position it had been in for ten years, in terms of finances and players.
Shenley Village was also presented with a cash prize of £600 from the league, because its three teams all finished second or above in their divisions.
* The club will resume training in indoor nets at the beginning of February. Anyone who is interested in playing is asked to contact Mr McLennan on 07973 377824.
