Boreham Wood's Ben Goodliffe has moved to Wolves after an agreement was reached to sell the player.

The deal will see the defender stay at the club until June 2018 with the option to extend for another year.

Within the deal, Goodliffe is to finish the season at the Hertfordshire club before he joins with the championship side in May.

Speaking to the club website the 17-year-old said: "It has been an incredible few months and season to be honest where I have not only captained England Colleges but made the squad and then my debut for Boreham Wood.

"It's great that my performances have recently been recognised by so many clubs but to have a club, with as big a history as Wolves see my potential, meant I didn't want to go anywhere else or have to think twice about signing."

The switch was completed by Wood chairman Danny Hunter and Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell and secretary Matt Wild over the past four weeks.

"Finally, I would like to thank the manager, coaches, players, staff and the supporters at Boreham Wood FC," added Goodliffe.

"You've all helped me to get this far, and a special thanks to Luke Garrard and Cameron Mawyer, as they've both played such a big part in developing me as a person, as well as a player.

"I would like to say a massive thank you to Danny for allowing it all to happen and i'll always be extremely grateful for all the help and guidance he gave me."
