Boreham Wood have signed defender Jack Connors on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge until the end of the season.

Connors, 21, linked up with Wood in time to be named on the substitutes' bench for this afternoon's home clash with Barrow in the National League.

Speaking to the club's website, boss Luke Garrard said: "Jack’s signing was an important one for us in terms of quality and squad depth, as is the return of Callum Reynolds from injury in the next ten days.

"Jack is versatile and can play in two or three positions and he knows Scott Doe and Luke Howell well from their time together at Dagenham.

“We are going to need to keep our squad strong in the next eight weeks, especially in light of the facial injury Sam Cox received up at Southport.

"That makes him unavailable for the next two games and he’s now decided to play for Guyana, meaning we won’t have him for either the Wrexham or Macclesfield Town games."

Connors started out at Fulham before signing a two-year scholarship with the Daggers. He spent time on loan at Isthmian Premier Division side Hendon before signing his first professional deal.

A Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, Connors was the Daggers' Young Player of the Year for the 2013/14 campaign.

To date he has made 55 appearances in all competitions.
