Boreham Wood have signed Delano Sam-Yorke on loan from Forest Green Rovers until the end of the season whilst Mustafa Tiryaki has left the club.

Tiryaki has joined Turkish club Manisa Büyüksehir Belediye Spor Kulübü for an undisclosed fee after scoring twice in just ten outings for Wood.

His place in Luke Garrard’s striking ranks is taken by Sam-Yorke, 26. The forward joined FGR in the summer but has made just one league start.

Garrard said of the former Cambridge United and Lincoln City striker’s arrival: “I’m excited to be working with Delano until the season’s end, as he will give us a real presence up top.

“We have for some time had one of the best defensive records and competitive midfields in the National league.

“However goals have been a problem. So this signing will give me great options up top with Delano, Jordan Chiedozie, Anthony Jeffrey and Jamie Lucas all very capable strikers at this level.

“I believe our recent signings will get us on the front foot and will turn defeats into draws and draws into wins and I’m looking forward to the second half of the season.”

Chairman Danny Hunter added: “I would like to thank our good friends at Forest Green for their help in making this deal happen.

“Delano understands that he will be very important to us in the coming months and I’m very happy with our business so far in this transfer window.

“We now have a strong and well balanced squad with options in every position and that can only help the dressing room as we enter the business end of the season.”
