Tabard earned a 31-19 bonus-point win at Enfield Ignatians in London Two North West on Saturday.

The visitors’ backs capitalised on early pressure with a quick score after just ten minutes. Gerald Arasa’s side stepping flat-footed the defence with Jack Reilly adding the extra two points.

Somewhat against the run of play Enfield scored next with a well-taken try from Jack Wilson after a strong run down the left hand touchline out flanked the Tabard defence.

Tabard responded almost immediately when Rhys Lewis took a more robust approach than his centre partner and brushed aside two opposing tacklers to score the converted try.

Moments later Tabard got their third try after Jack Reilly returned Enfield’s restart with interest.

Aaron Priscott did well to take a high kick and the ball found its way down the line. Arasa threw a well executed pass between his legs to Tom King who sprinted in to score and give them a 19-5 half-time lead.

It took five minutes of the second half before Tabard deservedly collected their bonus-point fourth try.

Tabard were camped in the hosts’ 22 and after three reset scrums Priscott was able to pick up and crash over in the corner. Harry Gough took over the kicking duties with Reilly injured and his conversion extended their lead.

Tom King scored his second of the game five minutes later after Leon Salteras cut a lovely line in the centres before off oading to Lewis. He was stopped just short but was able to set up King in the corner.

This was Tabard’s final try of the game and the hosts finished the game strongly and scored late on through Ben Mills and and Hadee Fayaz’s interception try.

Tabard return to action this weekend when they welcome Staines to Cobden Hill.
