Radlett remain on course to win the Herts Premier Division title after securing a nine-wicket victory at home to Welwyn Garden City in their play-off semi-final.

The result means Radlett will travel to North Mymms in the final tomorrow after the top two sides in the division won their matches.

Radlett finished top of the league after 14 victories from their 18 matches.

In the first meeting of the season between the sides, on the opening day, Radlett romped to a 136-run victory over North Mymms.

But their rivals avenged this defeat in July’s return game when North Mymms claimed a seven-wicket victory which was Radlett’s last defeat.

Radlett won the toss in Saturday’s semi-final and opted to field first against Welwyn Garden City.

The decision certainly paid off as the top four batsmen were out for a combined 16 runs which left them in a dire position.

Andrew Nolan provoked a fightback for Welwyn as he struck 46 while Connor Emerton hit 37.

Their knocks helped take the total up to 138 all out from 48.3 overs but this still looked too low to threaten the table-toppers.

Radlett made a confident start as they refused to give their opponents hope of turning the tie around.

Opener Fraser Crawford top scored with a 55 which featured 11 fours from 81 balls.

Kabir Toor also made a significant contribution for the team as he chipped in with 38.

Joe Cooke came in at number three and he finished on 18 not out which helped the side reach the target for the loss of one wicket.

Radlett only required 24.5 overs to wrap a confident victory which was their tenth consecutive win in the competition.

It means the team remain on course to retain the Premier Division title and follow up last year’s success.
