Radlett will host Welwyn Garden City tomorrow in their Herts Premier Division play-off semi-final after finishing top of the table.

The leaders closed the league campaign with an eighth consecutive win after beating Bishop’s Stortford by seven wickets.

Hosts Radlett chose to field first after winning the toss. Bishop’s Stortford struggled badly with the bat and had no answer as they were skittled out for just 91 in 29.5 overs.

Randeep Sanghera was in excellent form with the ball as the bowler claimed five for 27 from eight overs. Stuart Browne took two for 19 and Kabir Toor chipped in with two for 20.

In reply, Radlett had few problems chasing down the lowly target. Rob Clements finished unbeaten on 25 and Joe Cooke scored 18 not out for the victors.

It was a good way for the side to finish the regular season and Radlett will be favourites when they take on fourth-placed Welwyn this weekend. But they will be wary that their opponents did manage to hand them their first defeat of the season back in May.

Radlett Seconds missed out on promotion from Division Two A despite a three-wicket win over Watford Town as Northwood finished second.

Stan Tinkler (one for 32) and Troy Barrett (three for 14) were well supported by Michael Lee (four for 22) who made a welcome return to the wickets column as the opposition were dismissed for just 85.

In reply Radlett were on 39 for four and the nerves started to kick in. Michael Lee upped the rate with the top score of 21 before he lost his wicket.

Troy Barrett (one) and Robin Willis (12) pushed Radlett close to victory but it was left to Simeon Cohen (five not not out) and Charlie Nicholls (six not out) to see Radlett home.

Relegated Shenley Village ended their Championship campaign with a 37-run defeat to Langleybury.
