Radlett Golf Centre’s James Jankowski won the Herts Open and Professional Championship with a victory in testing conditions at Dyrham Park Country Club.

Jakowski battled wet and windy conditions to post two solid rounds of 72 and 74, for a total of 146 (two over par) to win both events by two shots.

A former Hertfordshire County player when an amateur at Potters Bar and Porters Park, Jankowski held the lead after the morning round with an impressive level par score.

He managed to hold his lead through to the finish after shooting a round of 74 in even tougher afternoon conditions.

The best placed amateur was Louis Campbell of Moor Park, who finished in fourth position overall.

Jankowski followed up victory with success at the Pavenham Park Pro-Am after a level par round of 72.

Having opened up with a bogey, Jankowski dropped another stroke at the third hole. But he began to turn the tide at the long fifth by making a birdie.

He collected another stroke two holes later, ensuring he turned for home in level par.

A double bogey six at the 12th threatened to undermine his challenge but Jankowski bounced back with a birdie at the 13th and added another two holes later. Three straight pars to finish ensured Jankowski continued his rich vein.
