Five Arsenal Ladies players have been named in England’s 23-strong Women’s World Cup squad.
Goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain, former captain Casey Stoney and fellow defender Alex Scott, midfielder Jordan Nobbs and forward Lianne Sanderson have all been selected by head coach Mark Sampson for the tournament in Canada.
England open up their campaign against France on June 9 and will also face group games against Mexico and Colombia as they bid to improve on their Euro 2013 showing when they failed to win a match.
Arsenal Ladies played their home games at Boreham Wood’s Meadow Park ground.
