Boreham Wood will look to make history this evening as they bid to retain the Herts Senior Cup for the first time in their history when they take on Hemel Hempstead Town.

The two Conference South sides meet at Letchworth County Ground (kick-off 7.45pm) with Wood looking to defend the title they won in 2014 by beating Bishop's Stortford 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Ian Allinson's side could only draw 1-1 at Ebbsfleet United on Saturday, courtesy of a late Ben Nunn penalty, meaning their title tilt hangs in the balance with one game to play.

The Wood are two points behind current leaders Bromley, who have a game in hand, and know the Ravens will have to lose both their remaining games to miss out on the title.

For Dean Brennan's Hemel side, the dream of a play-off place in their first season at level two is over after they lost 3-0 at home to Bishop's Stortford on Saturday.

The Tudors are currently seven points outside of the top five places but can still finish as high as sixth in what has been an encouraging first season back at this level.

Boreham Wood ran out winners in both meetings between the two this season, battering Hemel 6-0 at Vauxhall Road in early August to signal their title intentions.

It was a significantly closer affair when Wood ran out 1-0 winners at the end of March at Meadow Park.
