Boreham Wood have appointed Gerard Prenderville as their elite player development coach and Under-21 manager, following the expansion of the club's academy provision.

Prenderville, who joins from League 2 side Dagenham and Redbridge, will officially join the Wood on Monday, September 1. He is a qualified UEFA 'B' licence qualified coach.

Part of Watford's pioneering Harefield Academy setup, Prenderville progressed from Vicarage Road to join the Daggers in 2010.

Prenderville arrives at Meadow Park with the brief of working closely with academy manager Billy Hunter and academy director Luke Garrard, whilst liaising with first team manager Ian Allinson where required.

Also part of Prenderville's remit will be improving Boreham Wood's elite players' match-day experience and coaching programmes, as well as building links with local clubs and facilitating loan moves to further the development of academy players.
