Boreham Wood have announced the signing of midfielder Scott Thomas from Chesham United.
Thomas played a significant part in the Southern Premier League team’s runners-up position last season but was unable to help the Generals secure promotion via the play-offs.
Wood manager Ian Allinson told the club's website: “I watched Chesham three or four times last year, and though others often seemed to earn the plaudits over there, Scott was the one I liked and felt might improve us.
“He always grafted for the team, did the ugly side of things and got them playing,” Allinson added.
“I’m just happy we could reach an agreement; he seems a smashing lad and I look forward to working with him.”
The 24-year-old racked up 42 appearances for the Buckinghamshire outfit last season, scoring just once.
Allinson is confident of adding to his strike force for next season and revealed he is close to signing two strikers.
Former Watford scholar Ryan Hope has also been invited to train with the club during pre-season.
Hope was released by the Hornets this summer after his scholarship ended with the club.
