Boreham Wood will look to move clear of the Conference South relegation zone when they host back-to-back home games this week.

Ian Allinson’s side entertain Dover Athletic tomorrow before hosting Farnborough on Monday night.

Wood go into the fixtures only two points above the bottom three in 16th place so it is a big opportunity to put some daylight between them and the drop zone.

Dover Athletic are currently ninth in the table and are pushing for the play-offs this season.

Farnborough are sitting one place beneath Boreham Wood but only by virtue of a worse goal difference.

Monday’s meeting will be a chance for Wood to exact some revenge after a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Farnborough back in September.

Allinson’s side have not been in action since their 5-0 victory over Dorchester Town on Saturday, January 11.

Their latest postponement came on Saturday when the trip to Maidenhead United was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Meanwhile, Allinson’s side’s fixture at home to Havant & Waterlooville has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 5 with a 7.45pm kick-off. In other news, Boreham Wood's PASE scheme (Programme for Academic and Sporting Excellence) have announced their first trial date for the 2014/2015 season.

The trial will be held on Thursday, February 20 at 10am at Meadow Park. Wood’s PASE academy is for talented male footballers aged between 16 and 18 years old.

The scheme offers the chance to combine studies with UEFA accredited football coaching from ex-professionals.

Boreham Wood have had a partnership with Championship club Reading over the last two years which has involved games between the two youth sides.

Wood players Sam Doolan, Rob Hastings and Maxwell Holland have also gone on trial with the Royals.

The club have produced 12 England internationals at schools and college level over the last four years, which is more than any other team at their level in the country.

Wood currently have seven PASE scheme players in their first-team squad playing in the Conference South.

Former youth product Pelly Ruddock is an example of the scheme's success with the midfielder making his debut for West Ham United back in November.

If you cannot make the first trial next month then you can call the PASE Department on 0208 953 5097.
