Fagan hat-trick fires Tabard to win over London Nigerians

Tabard forward Paul Fagan scored a hat-trick in his 54-19 win over London Nigerians in London Two North West.

Centre Joe Calnan also picked up two tries as did stand off Jack Reilly in the convincing away win.

Despite the scoreline, this was not one of Tabard’s more cohesive performances and scoring chances went begging throughout the game.

Fagan [pictured] opened the scoring after 11 minutes when he picked up at the base of a scrum and powered through the initial cover and round the last line of defence for a great try.

Reilly then got his first of the game after the forwards had been halted driving for the line and he glided through the defence to score.

Wing John Aguila got the best individual try of the game. A break by centre Gerry Arasa gave Aguila space and he went round his opposite number and stepped inside the full-back to sprint clear and touch down under the posts.

Fagan added his second before Calnan got off the mark at the end of the half when he was sent clear to give Tabard a comprehensive 33-0 half-time lead.

London Nigerians finally scored some points with a try in the second half but Tabard responded with Fagan's third of the match as he powered over the line.

This was followed by Calnan’s second as he went through after Tabard recycled the ball rapidly. Nigerians scored twice more before Reilly rounded off the victory with a converted try.

Tabard entertain UCS Old Boys in their next match.
