The Shenley second team made a bit of history by fielding four Willingham family members as they visited Clarendon during Saturday's heat wave.
Shenley Village II lost the toss and were predictably asked to field.
James Davenall was back from injury as opening bowler and showed that added dimension that was needed from previous games. He removed Grant for five, with 15 runs on the scoresheet.
At the other end teenager Lloyd Willingham contained the batsmen in his first spell. Davenall soon struck again to remove Bullied LBW.
Munting joined the bowling attack and he soon removed Keane without scoring and also ClarendonÕs captain and opening bat Warren Gregory for 29 runs.
Things changed for Shenley as dropped catches undermined the good start and it was a long time in the field as heat and the pairing of teenager Kepple 81 not out and Campettie 69 not out saw Clarendon bat out the remaining overs.
In reply Shenley opened with Bubs Willingham and Laurie Willingham and had put on 37 before Laurie Willingham was well caught in the gully for 8.
Andy Lewis went in next and together the partnership took the score onto 111 when having scored fifty Bubs Willingham was bowled typically trying for one of his trademark shots already having hit seven fours.
Soon Lewis departed notching up 34 runs as wickets then fell at regular intervals as Shenley chased the total for victory in the reducing overs available.
Contributions from Stubbs nine, Davenall 14 both stumped, Wood five, Liam Willingham four runs, both run out tried to keep the possibility of a win going.
At the end Munting 10 not out and Lloyd Willingham 12 not out took no chances and batted out for a draw.
