Generosity can’t stretch that far

Borehamwood is well documented as having four of the most deprived wards in the country, let alone the county.

Can anyone explain why we are so heavily targeted by charitable organisations leafleting our district seeking unwanted clothing etc?

We have received four leaflets in the past three weeks, which appears to be the norm.

Is it thought that deprived wards would be more generous?

Putting unwanted clothes is ideal but we do draw the line when a charity takes goods clearly marked for another.

We consider this to be theft and makes us reluctant to give further support.

I never put charity bags out.
If I have any goods to donate to charity I drop them off INSIDE a charity shop that way you are sure who are getting the goods.
The bags that are posted through my letter box make great bin liners I get that many that I hardly ever have to buy any
