Thank you very much for your deserving tribute to Dick Clark.

I had the privilege of knowing him for some years.

He was one of the most gentlemanly, caring, humane and unselfish people I have ever met —our community is worse for his passing.

In a rampantly uncaring society, his unparalleled dedication to the local youth was always carried out in a meaningful, modest manner.

An example to all.

Bertrand Russell was commented: “Remember your humanity, forget the rest.”

I like to think Dick in his own way tried to emulate that.

I for one am very saddened by his demise. My most sincere condolences to his family.
