One can only guess other people’s responses to your article (‘Rail boss apologises for travel chaos over Christmas’, Borehamwood & Elstree Times, January 9).
Thameslink partnership managers apologies are totally unacceptable and an insult to their travelling public.
On January 2, campaigners demonstrated at King’s Cross station against privatisation. Needless to say, price increases have had a major economic effect since this Government came to power in 2010 – ticket prices have risen by 27 per cent.
It has been calculated the costs of dividend payment, debt write-offs and costs of privatisation total £1billion a year – enough to fund an 18 per cent price cut.
Before any representative of Thameslink offers any further apologies, they should consult their respective doctors for an urgent reality check – and the really hard bit, try to refrain from insulting people’s intelligence.
