Sooty and I really need your help. We are on a mission to recruit an army of Sooty volunteers to support Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) in London. Thousands of mini-Sooties have been collecting small change all over the UK since the 1960s. RNIB needs local volunteers more than ever to empty or find a new home for these very special collection boxes.

Every day in the UK, 100 people start to lose their sight and there are more than 175,430 in the London region who are living with sight loss. Currently, RNIB can only help one in three people who need support and we want to change that for the better.

RNIB needs volunteers who are flexible and can give two hours of their time, which can be given weekly or monthly, on the days that you choose. It is a fun and rewarding way to make the most of your free time and help ‘sweep’ up vital funds for RNIB.

Access to a car is essential, mileage costs and out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed. To find out more about flexible Sooty Time Giving – please contact Helena Pellier, RNIB’s area collections manager on 01733 375446 or email Helena.pellier@rnib.org.uk.

Sooty is hoping that everyone will get ‘Izzy Wizzy, Let’s Get Busy’ and help RNIB raise vital funds. We hope to hear from you soon.
