The almost childish response by former Labour councillor Joe Goldberg (‘Something out of Cloud Cuckoo Land’, Your Views, May 23) to my letter published in the previous edition (‘Labour party has gone off ‘half-cocked’, Your Views, May16) exposing the confession by former Grand Vizier of the Labour party Peter Mandelson is no substitute for intelligent examination of the facts.

Mr Mandelson now thanks to the patronage of his former paymasters and co-conspirators is now elevated to that political Valhalla, the House of Lords.

However, he condescended in the middle of last year to grant an interview where in a two-page spread he volunteered the admission that he and then Prime Minister Tony Blair sent teams out to EU member states inviting their respective governments to send their citizens to the United Kingdom.

A British ambassador, one of the co-ordinators of the many teams charged with this task of promoting these offers within the EU was also interviewed three weeks later.

The ambassador recounted how on one occasion the prime minister of a member of state was incredulous about the translation by the interpreter and requested that he repeat the invitation again.

Evidently the prime minister needed moments to reflect on what must have sounded like a divinely inspired open invitation to export the unemployed, homeless and even those unable to speak any English to a country where they would be welcomed with open arms by the Government.

The fact Peter Mandelson chose not to preface the invitations with any pre-conditions, in total compliance with EU open door policies of freedom of movement of citizens and goods within member states, is a damming indictment that he knowingly acquiesced in a conspiracy to flood this country with migrants, many of whom would become totally dependent on our welfare systems, employment, housing, schools and hospitals.

The ‘Cloud Cuckoo Land’ chosen for reference by Mr Goldberg was used in my previous letter in the context of Cllr Ann Harrison ‘shooting from the hip’ as she had also blatantly ignored the facts.
