It is not uncommon to hear about elderly people being victims of distraction burglaries.
They are an easy target for con-artists who rarely consider the psychological implications of their crime on the victim.The actions this week of a Borehamwood pensioner, slamming the door on a would-be thief posing as a water board official, were a stand against crime.No one wants to live in fear and be suspicious of everything around them, but times have changed and casting a wary eye over strangers who come knocking on the door is crucial.
