Hertsmere residents are being consulted about the services Hertfordshire County Council provides for people with physical disabilities.

The council has devised new strategies to give people greater choice over the care they receive, and is now asking for feedback.

Sally Newton, executive member for adult care and health, said: "The response has been fantastic since we launched the consultation on October 15, but there is still time for anyone who hasn't had their say to get in touch.

"We want to hear the thoughts of as many people as possible before the consultation ends. It will help us develop our services to give people more choices and opportunities to improve their quality of life and live as independently as possible."

The authority specifically wants to hear from young people, aged between 14 and 25, as well as others with disabilities or sensory needs.

Responses can be completed online before January 11 at www.hertsdirect.org/acsconsultations.

Thanks for this opportunity to have my point listened to!,I feel a cheap wheelchair delivery service (electric and push) would benefit myself and others for days when i can't drive due to my disability stopping me from doing so, if only a push wheelchair then it would be very nice to have a carer kind enough to just take me out for a breath of fresh air as somedays im stuck indoors with nobody to assist me in my plight many thanks and hope this helps others as well!
