Schools across Hertsmere have helped recycle nearly 500 pieces of electrical equipment as part of a countywide scheme.
Hertsmere Borough Council offered schools a free collection service to help them get rid of old computers and other electrical goods.
466 items were collected from across Hertsmere, which included computers, monitors and keyboards.
All the items collected are taken apart and their different components, such as metals and plastics, are then recycled.
The collection is part of a scheme by the Hertfordshire Waste Partnership and since June last year more than 73 tonnes of electrical waste has been collected for recycling from schools across the county.
