A SPATE of burglaries has prompted police to warn residents to take extra precautions.
The most recent incident took place in Gills Hill, Radlett, on Tuesday between 2.55pm and 3.30pm.
Offenders forced open a rear window of the house and stole a set of car keys before driving off in the owner’s silver Toyota Estate.
In Borehamwood, offenders stole a handbag, purse, car keys and wallet from homes in Norfolk Gardens and Dales Road.
Detective Sergeant Yvonne Carroll, from the Hertsmere Local Crime Unit, said: “We are urging people to be extra vigilant and to make sure they have fully secured their house before they go out or go to bed.”
Police have advised residents to check all doors and windows are locked, ensuring they double-lock any UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it with the key.
Gardens should be made secure and valuables should be out of sight, police said.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call 01707 806835 or the non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222.
