Shenley Parish Council has a vacancy.

Completely independent from Hertsmere Borough Council, parish councillors in Shenley oversee a variety of programmes and projects, including organising social events for senior citizens, supporting local community groups, and maintaining some play areas and allotments.

Parish councillors can also represent Shenley’s interests to a wide-range of public bodies, including the borough council, county council, and Hertfordshire Constabulary.

Shenley Parish Council meet on the second Tuesday of every month apart from in August.

You do not have to have been involved in politics previously to apply.

Nominations for the role close on Friday June 1 with the by-election expected to take place on June 28 between 7am and 10pm.

Nomination forms can be obtained from the Returning Officer at Hertsmere Borough Council's offices in Borehamwood and delivered back to the same address.
