Boreham Wood football club may have suffered heartbreak earlier this month but there is one team in the town that is going from strength to strength.

Boreham Wood 2000, made up of a number of age groups, are a new club but have certainly made their mark.

Talented u12's have reached both the county cup and league finals this year in their first ever season. Sadly, they lost out 3-1 to Watford Ladies Academy in the county final but came out on top in the league cup beating Garston Ladies U12 Wildcats 2-0 at Harvesters in St Albans on May 12.

Six of the current team are pupils at Hertswood Academy.

Meanwhile, the u14's county cup adventure ended at the final hurdle and they reached the semi finals of the league cup.

In just their third season, the girls have won League 2 and finished as runners-up in League 1.

Some of the U10's and U12's participated in a parade before the ladies FA Cup final at Wembley on May 5. Boreham Wood 2000 are the sister club of professional women's side London Bees.
