Morning, here is your weather and travel update for the new week.

Rail

It has been described as the "biggest changes" since the 1970's but the new train timetable is not going as quite to plan.

A number of train operators, including Thameslink, have completely altered its timetables to make them more frequent.

There are now 400 more services and according to National Rail, some new drivers are still to be full trained meaning that some of the new services are unable to run.

Thameslink have been able to run a near full service but there are cancellations, particularly from Harpenden, Radlett and Elstree & Borehamwood.

To keep, up to date, visit http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ Elsewhere, there is a good service on all tube lines.

Roads

"Surface dressing" on one of the busiest routes in and out of Watford this week is set to cause delays.

Work is taking place on the A4008 Stephenson Way between the M1/A41 roundabout and Colonial Way in both directions. The road is still open for drivers at this time.

There are already long queues from Waterfields up to the M1.

The M1 southbound is seeing delays all the way back to j10 but it is particularly bad from j8 for Hemel Hempstead.

It is queuing northbound on the M1 approaching j5 for Watford.

The A405 approaching j6 for Bricket Wood, which is already a congested route, is being affected as is the A41 at Watford.

And it has also had a bad affect in Bushey with delays on Aldenham Road, Bushey Hall Road, and Bushey Mill Lane.

Waterfields Lane towards Bushey Arches is also busy.

More to follow on these works later this morning.

Stop-start on the M25 anti-clockwise between j21 for the M1all the way round to the M40. It is particularly heavy at j18 and between j17 and j16.

In Essex, delays on the M11 southbound between the M25 and Woodford Green.

Weather

Another sunny and very warm day with temperatures at around 20 degrees celcius. It will cloud over a little as the day goes on.
