More than a thousand pounds has been raised for a children's project.

£1,100 was raised at the Brewed and Pressed in Mill Hill in an event organised by Sparklets, a group of friends from across Hertsmere, including Borehamwood, and Mill Hill.

Sparklets was formed nearly 11 years ago and on March 15 the group hosted a talk in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Borehamwood Times:

The theme of the talk was Love Your Lifestyle. A panel of four women including Sara Barton, a nutritionist, Kim Milich, a life coach, Dr Joanna Silver, and author Lisa Roukin, spoke about the importance of positive body image and ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle in front of an audience of 50 guests.

Danielle Plesner, a committee member at Sparklets, from Elstree said: "Wellbeing is such a relevant topic, and it was a pleasure to hear our empowering and inspirational panel talk about current issues, whilst raising money for CRUK at the same time. We thank Brewed and Pressed for allowing us to host our event, and thank our supporters and fellow committee members for their continued support to this wonderful cause."

The Sparklets committee has been supporting charities for more than a decade and have raised around £60,000 for Cancer Research UK's Kids & Teen Cancer UK project.
