A dog is missing after he ran away during a burglary.

His owners believe Brutus, a male Pointer cross Daschund, bolted after a burglary at a house in Mildred Avenue in Borehamwood on Sunday morning.

Brutus and his owners are from Germany so the dog is not familiar with the area.

Lucy McKee believes he escaped after a person smashed their way into her husband's parents house. They have another dog who they think went and hid during the incident. Only the dogs were at home when it happened.

Borehamwood Times:

Brutus has a red collar and is black/brown in colour.

There has been reported sightings in Barnet Lane near the Laura Ashley hotel.

There has already been a widespread appeal on social media to find Brutus.

Mrs McKee and her family are set to return to Germany on Saturday morning.

She said: "Unfortunately he's not too familiar with this area but he does know Woodcock Hill. He does love to run. He is very friendly but may be frightened. If anyone sees him, please get in touch."

Anyone who sees Brutus is asked to contact Mrs McKee on 004917663131207 (a German number) or on 07511498600.
