Pesticides and their alternatives are the topic of a meeting to be held next week.

Pesticides Action Network and the Barnet Green Party are hosting a meeting to discuss glyphosate, the most widely-used pesticide, and its environmentally friendly alternatives.

The Green Party believes other alternatives are better for the environment and have been used in cities such as Paris, Madrid, Aberdeen, and Barnet's German twin town Siegen, and closer to home, the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham use foam steam equipment to "cook" the weeds.

The meeting takes place from 7pm on Thursday, 28 September at Tintico, 2-4 Station Road in Finchley Central, or sign the "stopping the use of glyphosate in public spaces" petition on the Barnet Council petitions website.
