Electricity faults may be affecting residents in the area.
People took to social media to complain of lights flickering and a lack of power going to sockets in busy Borehamwood.
Elstree Way and Shenley Road are said to be two of the areas affected, and the instances began earlier this afternoon.
UK Power Networks, who are responsible for looking after the electricity supply in the area released a statement.
They said: UK Power Networks engineers are currently checking the overhead lines in the Borehamwood area following reports of brief interruptions to the electricity supplies in the Elstree Way and Shenley Road areas of the town.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this is causing.”
