The council are seeking feedback on where, when and how recycling and waste should be left out and stored.

Barnet Council are planning to introduce new waste guidelines to reduce litter and fly-tipping after consulting with residents until June 14.

Features of the guidelines include “time-banded” collections, meaning waste and recycling would only be left out for collection at restricted times, and awareness raising of the importance of recycling the right materials.

Jamie Blake, Commissioning Director of Environment in the council, said: “We know how important our local environment is to our residents, and these proposals will help maintain the high standards they expect of our High Streets.

The consultation is open until June 14, and you can register your views engage.barnet.gov.uk to be considered by full council in July.
