Parents struggling to find the money to send their daughters to a private girls’ primary school may be able to get help from newly-announced bursaries.

St. Anthony’s School for Girls in Hampstead Heath has announced two scholarships for new-starting pupils at any age for the new school year in September 2017.

The scholarships will provide 20 per cent off annual school fees, awarded on academic merit to new-starters of any age.

Discounts to fees will cover the awarded pupil’s entire course up until year six, so long as the students’ performance is kept at a good rate.

Head teacher Laura Martin said: “We are delighted to be making these scholarships available.

“Our school is deeply focused on nurturing the individual – it is a place where girls enjoy learning and develop a passion for knowledge.

“We believe these scholarships will be welcome to parents who wish to access the benefits of the educational environment we provide.”

The families of the awarded girls will also be able to apply for a bursary and an additional 80 per cent of the school fees if they have financial difficulties.

Bursaries are funded by the Gold Standard charitable trust to support academically gifted girls whose families may need further financial support to help them attend.
