A woman has been robbed whilst using a cashpoint.

Between 6.15pm and 6.30pm on August 13, a woman in her 40s was at a Halifax cashpoint in Shenley Road, Borehamwood.

She put her card and PIN and requested to withdraw £200 at which point she was approached by a man.

He said the machine was not working and when the victim questioned this the man became aggressive causing the victim to stand back.

The man took the money and ran off towards Cardinal Avenue and Whitehouse Avenue.

He is described as an Asian man who is around 5ft 4ins tall and skinny. He had a short black beard and was wearing a grey t-shirt, grey shorts and dark coloured trainers.

Detective Constable Duncan McCormick said: “I believe the area would have been busy at this time and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened or who saw the offender prior to or following the incident to contact me.”

Anyone with information should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on 101.
