A meeting was held with the former rail minister Claire Perry MP and TfL representatives as part of an ongoing campaign to get Oyster PAYG extended to Radlett.

At the meeting, organised by MP for Hertsmere Oliver Dowden, Mrs Perry promised Oyster would come to Radlett.

The former minister, who resigned from her position on July 13, said it has been a committed obligation for Oyster to be extended to Radlett and she was disappointed this had not been delivered.

The new rail minister, Paul Maynard, who replaced Mrs Perry, insisted the current level of service on Southern services was “unacceptable”.

Before the announcement of Mrs Perry’s resignation, Mr Dowden said: “It was good to finally get the key people in one room to understand what exactly is going on.

“I share the disappointment felt by many of my constituents that Oyster has yet to be extended to Radlett.

“Over the past year, I have put pressure on the Department for Transport, TfL and Govia Thameslink to move forward proposals and to set out clearly why targets for the extension of Oyster to Radlett have not been met.”

Mr Dowden has said he will continue to monitor the developments to ensure the commitments made are honoured.
