Thousands of people came together for the town’s annual civic festival.

As part of the 16-day civic festival, residents across Elstree and Borehamwood Town came to Meadow Park, Borehamwood, for a series of events.

Last Saturday the Town Council held Families Day which included a retro girl band, a Michael Jackson tribute, falconry displays as well as more than 50 stalls and a free funfair.

Other events included Elstree and Borehamwood’s Got Talent show which was judged by the Town Mayor Cllr Clive Butchins, Cllr Sandra Parnell and Cllr Graem Franklin with Brian Burton taking care of the hosting duties.

The winner was 16 year old Romario Faldes who performed a ratpack medley. Second place was awarded to Jessica Bruce, 15.

Isabella Byrne, 11, and Mae Heavey, 10, came third place with their performance of Ed Sheeran’s Photograph.

This year also saw the return of the festival run which was relaunched with the help of Park Run and saw runners run 5k around Aldenham Country Park.

The festival ended with a special guided Teddy’s Trial walk to Borehamwood from Caldecote by creator John Cartledge.

The walkers started their five mile walk in style by being dropped off in Caldecote by Dean Sullivan in his specially commissioned route master bus.
