Marie Curie ambassador and football pundit Chris Kamara has backed a Yorkshire Building Society football fundraiser.

The Society’s agency at Premier Choice Financial Services, in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, are inviting customers to become fundraising fans on Wednesday June 29.

The event will have football themed cakes for sale with every £20 funding one hour of Marie Curie nursing care.

Mr Kamara said: “There has been some unbelievable fundraising happening for Marie Curie, thanks to Yorkshire Building Society’s Hour of Need campaign.

“Customers and colleagues from around the country have so far helped to raise a fantastic £900,000 and with continued support, we can help them on their way to reaching their £1million goal.”

The Hour in Need campaign was launched in 2014 with the aim of raising £500,000 by December 2016

David Mallouppa, proprietor of Premier Choice Financial Services, said: “We are so proud that customers in Borehamwood have helped us be on the ball and make this the Society’s most successful ever national fundraising campaign.

“The Hour of Need campaign is having a real impact on terminally ill people and their families and we will continue to raise even more money throughout the rest of the year.

“Along with the backing of Kammy we are hoping to get plenty of local support for our football themed activities on the day.”
