To celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, more than 100 residents joined the street party held in Park Crescent in Elstree.
After the success of the street party in 2011 to honour Kate and William’s wedding the residents of Park Crescent were keen for an encore.
A community group formed a small committee and planned the event in just five weeks and they gained sponsorship from Squires Estates and donations from Tesco and Orli Bakery.
The party on Sunday June 12 was opened by the event organiser Lisa Collins who said how she remembered a street party for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977.
The event was then officially opened by Borehamwood deputy town mayor Cllr Eric Silver who along with his wife was proud to be there as his son Cllr Gary Silver also lives in the area.
During the street party there was plenty of home baked cakes, biscuits and drinks with a visit from Borehamwood Fire Brigade.
