A man has been charged and remanded in custody following an attempted abduction in Radlett.

Joe Winson, 24, from Harris Lane in Shenley, has been charged with kidnap and grievous bodily harm with intent.

On Saturday January 16, Mr Winson appeared at Hatfield Remand Court where he pleaded not guilty and was remanded to appear for trial on a date to be set.

On January 14, a woman was walking along Watling Street in Radlett when she was allegedly forced into a car before escaping with a broken ankle.

Detective Inspector Matt Phillips said: “Officers are continuing to provide support to the victim at this time.

“I understand that this incident will have caused concern in the community however, I would like to reassure people that we believe this to be an isolated incident and a suspect has now been remanded in custody.”
