A dog will guide the down mayor through the muddy countryside as part of an annual event to encourage people to walk more.
Teddy the Fox Terrier will join Mayor of Elstree and Borehamwood, Richard Butler, along the fields the county has to offer on Sunday, 11 October.
The pooch has lived in Borehamwood since he was a puppy and is an enthusiastic and experienced user of the local footpath network.
People who want to take part in ‘Teddy’s Trails’ should meet at Elstree and Borehamwood Station at 2pm.
Walkers will take the 107 bus towards Edgwarebury, before strolling back through the countryside, looking at points of interest along the way.
The distance is around three miles and people who want to join in should wear suitable footwear in case the ground is muddy and bring a raincoat.
