Teachers behind a new primary school say they have worked “incredibly hard” on their application.

Ben Lewis, of Lullington Garth, Borehamwood, and Tal Landsman, of Gresham Road, Edgware hope to open the new LL Primary School, in Borehamwood, in September 2016.

They submitted their application to the Department of Education earlier this year and have been invited to give a final interview.

Mr Landsman said: “This is a really exciting time for both the whole community and us.

“We have worked incredibly hard to get to this point and are really looking forward to this opportunity to provide a new primary school for all children in Elstree and Borehamwood which will be inclusive to all, regardless of religion or background.

The 25-year-old’s, who only left school seven years ago, say the new school will cater for 420 children.

Although billed as a Jewish school, 50 per cent of places will be available to children of other faiths, cultures and denominations.
