The excitement that people felt on the very first Victory in Europe Day was recreated at a club for over 60s.
People flocked to DR96, which is held at 96 Shenley Road every Wednesday, to celebrate 70 years since the end of the Second World War.
Speaker Alan Lawrence gave an talk on what the town was like during the war, using photographs from the period.
Refreshments were provided by Sasha Cappocci of the Visually Impaired Club and musicians ‘Nick and Brian’ held a sing-a-long of wartime songs.
