A schoolgirl's drawing of ‘what it means to help others’ was displayed in a field hospital in Sierra Leone.
Netra Chiliveri, a pupil at Summerswood School, in Furzehill Road, Borehamwood, won a competition organised by Hertfordshire County Council.
Her painting, entitled Good Work, Solider carried a message of hope for troops who gave up their Christmases to help fight Ebola in the poverty stricken country.
It was chosen from thousands of entries by armed forces personnel serving in Sierra Leone.
The prize for her school was an Apple iPad, donated by Serco, which was presented by Regimental Sergeant Major Graham Miller and County Councillor Alan Plancey during a special assembly.
