Crime prevention advice was issued by volunteer police cadets to more than 300 homes.

Volunteer police cadets visited homes on Theobald Street, Borehamwood, on Saturday to make a crime prevention survey and hand out advice leaflets funded by the Hertsmere Community Safety Partnership.

A total of 29 residents signed up to Neighbourhood Watch, while 304 home owners took part in the survey.

Cadet leader PC Ross Paybody said: “It’s a busy time of year and protecting your property and valuables from theft is not always at the forefront of people’s minds so it was good to be able to raise awareness of the simple steps people can do to keep themselves crime-free this Christmas, and into the New Year.

“We received some positive feedback from residents who felt reassured that the police cadets were taking a proactive approach to residential burglaries in their community.”
