Cartoons and animation inspired children to write and create their own art.
Pupils at Parkside Primary School, in Aycliffe Road, Borehamwood, spent two weeks writing and drawing after learning about classic and recent animated films.
The children watched Walt Disney classics such as Peter Pan and The Lion King and more recent favourites such as Cars, How to Train a Dragon and Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs.
Headteacher Julie Muncey said: “The children produced work of an incredibly high standard and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
“It was fantastic to see so many children engrossed and taking such pride in their learning.”
The two weeks culminated in a dress up day and display in the school hall to showcase the children's work.
Amy and Sophie, both from Year 1 said: “We really enjoyed watching the film Monsters Inc and writing about what we had seen. We also used some wax crayons to draw a spooky scene.
“It was fun making our monsters at home with our mums and dads.”
