Police have responded to the growing threat of cyber crime by setting up a new specialist unit.
Cybercrime can include illicit online activities from hacking, fraud and scamming to stalking, hate crime and even human trafficking.
Hertfordshire Constabulary’s cyber and financial investigation unit will be focusing on serious and complex cyber-enabled crime, supporting colleagues dealing with cyber-related investigations in other units and investigating and preventing fraud.
The new team is launching a section of the Herts Police website dedicated to dealing with cybercrime, which contains information about current issues, emerging threats and advice on how to be safe online.
