Talented school choirs will have the chance to perform at Elstree Studios if they win a choral competition.

The Mayor of Hertsmere Councillor Carey Keates is on the lookout for school choirs in the borough with talent and enthusiasm to take part in his competition to raise money for his two chosen charities.

Cllr Keates said: "I'm thoroughly looking forward to the afternoon and hope many local school choirs will take the opportunity to compete.

“Last year's event was very well received and The Ark was packed so I hope we can repeat that success and raise a sizeable sum for these two terrific charities."

Winners will receive £250 for their school and will be invited to perform at the Hertsmere Civic Dinner at Elstree Studios in March next year.

The competition will take place at The Ark Theatre in Borehamwood on Sunday, November 16 at 3pm and will be in aid of Kidney Research UK and Hertsmere Mencap.
