A day service has celebrated 30 years of service to the community with a 'brilliant' anniversary party.

The Borehamwood Multi Purpose Day Service, in Aycliffe Road, hosted its anniversary party last week to celebrate the last 30 years of hard work within the town.

Staff and service users attended the day long event and took part in the wide range of activites on offer, including fun games, live music and a visit from Animal Man Nick Spellman and his exotic companions.

Service user Harry Goldsworthy said: "I have had  a lovely day and coming to the Centre keeps me happy".

He went on to say that when he first came to the Centre the emphasis was on him doing certain sessions such as woodwork, but now he is able to come into the centre and meet his friends.

Town Council Mayor Pat Strack also attended the afternoon, and staff say the event was very well attended and all those who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
