More than 70 people attended a golf day to help raise £12,000 for charity.
The Rotary Club of Elstree and Borehamwood hosted a charity golf day to raise money for two charities – Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and Bliss.
Participants teed off in the sunshine at the host golf club South Herts, in Whetstone, last Friday before later sitting down to dinner, attended by 100 people.
Denise Clark sang to the gathering and encouraged them to bid for the range of lots in the auction, while representatives from both charities spoke about the work that the money raised will go towards.
The President of the Rotary Club, Barbara Kennedy, said the club had previously raised money for Help for Heroes and she was delighted to see one of its ambassadors, Derek Derengali, who the club had become associated with, doing so well in the Invictus Games.
She added that she was delighted that this year’s event was supporting the two charities that do such good work for sick children.
