A six-year-old is hoping to find a sponsor to help send her to Disneyland.

Summer Kershaw, of Organ Hall Road, Borehamwood, is hoping to visit Disneyland after being awarded first runner up in a beauty pageant last week.

The beauty pageant star, who is a pupil at Meryfield School in Borehamwood, was selected to take part in the Face of the Globe competition after sending off her photo with an application form and detailing her biggest achievement.

The London heats of the international competition were held at Elstree Studios last week – with participants under the age of 12 being banned from wearing makeup.

After strutting her stuff, Summer was awarded first runner up and has now qualified to go through to the final round which is being held in Disneyland Paris.

However, as the young model did not win the round outright she wasn’t able to pick up the free tickets on offer and is now on the lookout for donations to make her Disneyland dream come true.

Mum Zoe Sherlock said: “When we were at the pageant last week it was such a great event to be part of - it was a really good evening and going to Disney would just be more of that. Summer would get to spend a day in Disneyland and do things like a masked ball, which has been put on for the contestants.

“She obviously really wants to go, like all the others.”

The family are now looking to raise £600 from local businesses to pay for the tickets, which can be split between two or three companies.

Clothing or beauty store sponsors would be ideal, as Disney Princess fan Summer could return the favour by doing modelling work for the companies along with promoting the stores both online and at the pageant itself.
